Shea:   Now let’s dig into the meal.

Shea: Hey!

Michelle: Hello, hello.  Merry Christmas. Merry Christmas.

Shea: Oh my gosh. It’s so exciting to be here, man. We’re, what are we, like two days out? Two days, three days. Yeah, something like that. Some math in there, also math in there. I mean, Hey, math was never my strong suit, but anyways, you know, it’s Christmas right around the corner. Yeah. And we’re celebrating the reason for the season. Yes we are.

Michelle: Yes we are.

Shea: And what is that?

Michelle: Jesus among us, God our savior born unto us.

Shea:  On to us. And that is the name of this episode. Y’all it is so exciting at this. I’ll tell you that this is probably my favorite guest ever. All of our podcast history. And I think you’re really thoroughly going to enjoy the wisdom and knowledge that this person has when it comes to Jesus and a whole lot of other things. But as I sit here putting this together, you know, cause we want to bring it in a little bit, right. You know, for unto us, right? The title, right. Isaiah 9:6, this is prophesied about 700 years before Jesus comes on scene, right? The 700 years of preparation, 700 years to show us that we’re on a progression, a trajectory to a certain place. And of course this season being wrote to Revelation. That is the trajectory where we’re headed. And this versus Fronto as a child is born unto us. A son is given and the government will be upon his shoulders. And his name will be called wonderful counselor, mighty God, everlasting father, prince of peace. Y’all on a trajectory to revelation. This is who we want in our corner. Man, look at this. If we ever needed a counselor, mighty God, everlasting father, prince of peace, a stable unchanging infallible king in a beautiful kingdom, that is now!

Michelle: Well, I’m fed. I’m done. You know, that was the whole gingerbread house right there.

Shea:  I wonder if our guest wants to eat that gingerbread house. I tell you this guest that we have in our house. Just likes to uh…. Candy. Gingerbread house, Baba? Oh, I gave it away. Oh no.

Michelle:  He knew. He’s like, I can’t let her do it guys. I can’t. But you know, this is season eight. This is the “Road to Revelation.” We’re kicking it off. Not with like a self-titled episode. One that’s episode three, episode three is Road to Revelation, but episode one, four onto us because the foundation of any revelation that matters comes back to God, the father, the son, the holy spirit and the word that was made flesh that came here and to us and all that, that means. And so as always, our title has many layers to it. We’re covering revelation. We’re also talking about the road to, what we hope the revelation is for all of us, w not, you know, prophetic out the wall stuff, but like better understanding the word of God being revealed to us with our understanding of it. And, uh, and I think that that’s why we brought on this very special guest as a gift to you and us.  because this guest is going down their own little road to revelation. Despite the fact that they’re pretty new to it all. So Calia Watson is a few months away from three years old, but she’s already a force to be reckoned with in the world of prayer, painting and playing pretend. In nursery, she enjoys leading prayer and participating in skits with her friends. She lives with her Mommy, Baba and Mama. Since her season four episode was such a hit. We ask, I think it’s actually like the top seven episodes. You know, um, since her season four episode was such a hit, we ask listeners, family, and friends to ask Calia anything for her inevitable return to the pantry. You’ll hear our one on two recording first. That’s what you’re hearing right now. And then we’re going to cut to Calia who invited herself on.  We knew one day she would right in time for the holidays. And so we decided that would be a big portion of our special. And then everyone asked questions, the Q&A comes after. We also have a little bonus in there. She wanted to show everyone her nativity. If you’re not watching, you’ll get to hear her, describe her nativity. And you’ll get to hear her trying to hide the shepherd on the search for her Baba and not being able. Well, you’ll just, you’ll just see. But if you want to see. If you want to see, jump over to the video version of this podcast, but if you’re cool hearing, you’re good to go, but let’s go ahead and get that started. Let’s roll it.

Calia: You can talk about Him because you’re good!

Shea:  Oh, thank you. So, but I got a question for you. Who is Jesus?

Calia: God.

Shea: What did Jesus do?

Calia: Rise up from the dead!

Shea: Really? Well? How did he end up dead?

Calia: He died on the cross and then mean people put him there.

Shea: Don’t touch the microphone. There you go. Now you’re talking. There you go.

Calia: Yeah. And uh…. Uh yeah… Do you got your phone?

Shea: Do I got my phone? What was my phone going to do?

Calia: Put it on there.

Shea: But we’re actually looking at, it’s look over there. See, see up there. Look on mama’s computer screen over there. See, oh, see, look that, mama’s recording to see how that works. So then, okay, so let’s talk about this. So Jesus died on the cross by, from mean people and then they buried him. Right. And then you said he rose again. Okay. So then this is December, right? So what do we celebrate this year, this month?

Calia: Christmas!

Shea: What is Christmas celebration? All about. Okay. And so what, what happened? Who’s coming. Who’s gonna, who came during this Christmas time?

Calia: God.

Shea: Okay. And so how did that happen? Who’s his mommy and daddy.

Calia:  What?

Shea: Okay. And then what was his name? Who was born in it? Who was born?

Calia: Josiah.

Shea: Was it Jesus? Was Jesus born?

Calia: Yeah.

Shea: So tell me the story about Jesus being born.

Calia:   Yeah, that is good for the way. Let’s Start from the beginning.

Shea: Let’s start from the beginning

Calia:  He just put…I forgot what the word is.

Shea:   You forgot what word?

Calia: The word that had the…

Shea: Oh, so, so let’s, so Jesus was born. Where was he born?

Calia:  He was born in Bethlehem.

Shea:  And where and who came to see him?

Calia: The wise men and the shepherd.

Shea:  So then what are we going to do for Christmas?

Calia: Uh, Celebrate Christmas!

Shea:   Yeah. Do you think we should make a cake for Jesus? A birthday cake for Jesus. Talk into the microphone so the people can hear you.

Calia: You know what?

Shea:  What?

Calia:  I got a little nap. And you know what’s gonna come today?

Shea: What’s gonna come?

Calia: They’re gonna bring some of the recipes, all the families!

Shea:  Oh my goodness. When we podcast, we have to be quiet. Like not, not with our voice, but with everything like .. we have to just talk to the microphone. So what kind of w there you go. That’s okay. Just hold it. You can hold it. There you go. What kind of recipes?

Calia: Maybe they can bring a cake

Shea: So do you think we should make a birthday cake for Jesus and okay. And so then, okay. The other day, did we like something? What did we light?

Calia: M&Ms

Shea: We lit M&Ms. Okay. Was there a candle? What kind of candle?

Calia: Advent

Shea:  Right. And we made that. Can we made it didn’t we? You and  mommy, I kind of helped. I did do the drilling right. For the candles. And so then we lit one last week. And so we’re going to light another one coming up Saturday or Sunday. So what was last week’s?

Calia: Ummm… I forgot

Shea: singing, hope

Shea:  Remember, can you do that? Can you say Hope.

Calia: I can’t

Shea: You can’t. All right. So the last thing, last thing for the podcast, right? Can you sing a song?

Calia: singing: Jesus loves me… I can do it!

Shea:  Okay. I know you can. I know you can do it cause you good like that.

Singing: Come they told me…

Crackly static

Shea: Hey, what are you doing?

Calia: I’m tryna wipe this microphone cause I just put my lips to it.

Shea:   Oh, okay. Okay. So let you fit here. How about this? We got a Bible verse. Don’t we? John 3:16. For God so…

Calia: Loved the world!

Shea: That he…

Calia: Gave his only Son!

Shea: That who should ever believe in him…

Calia: Yeah! Should not perish.

Shea: But have e…

Calia: eternal life!

Shea: Yeah, that’s awesome!

Can you say bye to everybody and tell them, thank you for… do you want mommy to sit where Baba was at? Okay. Here let’s get mommy.

Michelle: Hi. What do you want to talk about?

Calia: Jesus

Michelle: Okay. What about that? You want to talk about God? What you want to talk about?

Calia: You know what? Jesus is God!

Michelle: You know what? You’re right. And do you remember the third part of God? The other name we call guy. You remember? What’s that name?

Calia: And the Holy Spirit

Michelle: There you go. Yeah. And how we don’t totally understand how it works, but they’re out there. Yeah.

Calia:  Yeah. You know what? The wisemen came to see him.

Michelle:  The Wise Men came to see him. Hold your mic. Yeah. Yeah. There you go. Yeah. Your microphone. So the Wise Men came to see him. What did they bring him?

Calia: Gold, Frankincense and Myrrh.

Michelle:    Ooh, you said that like a pro. Do you like the way frankincense smells?

Calia: Yeah.

Yeah. Have you ever smelled myrrh? Have I ever let you smell myrrh?

Calia:   Yeah. Yeah.

Michelle: Yeah. And then you can’t smell gold. Gold doesn’t really have a smell.

Calia: They always have gold paint.

Michelle:  Yeah. We have gold paint. That’s right. Who else visited Jesus?

Calia: The three shepherds!

Michelle: The shepherds. And who did they bring?

Calia: The little lamb!

Michelle: Thats right, the little lamb!

Calia: You know what? What’s that little boy, that little drummer boy’s name?

Michelle:  Oh, you mean the, for King and Country with Joel and Luke. Leo. The little boys name is Leo.

Shea: And whose son is he?

Calia:  Uhh I forgot

Michelle:   Yeah, I think, I think he’s Luke’s son and his uncle, his uncle Joel.

Calia:  There we go. Thank you. And that way you, we get you to switch.

Michelle: Let’s switch. Well, I think then it would just be me and Baba and people get to hear us all the time. You’re the special present. You’re a present this season. You want to sing a song? You want to sing a song with me? Cool. Which one?

Calia: Kumbuya

Michelle: Cool. All right. You start.  I’m gonna jump in.

Calia:    Kumbaya my lord… trails off singing

Shea: What about one of the songs you and mommy sing?

Calia: O Holy Night!

Michelle:   Oh, Holy Night. Okay. Put the mic to your mouth. Oh,

Calia: O’ holy night, the stars are brightly shining… Okay let’s sing away in a manger

Michelle:  Okay. Let’s sing that. You do that one. Really good. Help me. Help me. Remember how it goes. Put the mic up.

Calia:   Singing:  Away in a manger, no crib for a bed, the little Lord Jesus laid down his sweet head, the stars in the sky looked down where he lay, the little Lord Jesus laid down his sweet head.

Michelle:  Do you want to wish a Merry Christmas?

Calia: Yeah

Michelle: Okay. All you have to do is put the mic to your mouth and say Merry Christmas, everybody

Calia:   Happy Christmas, everybody! Now Baba can come.

Shea: (From background) We almost done?

Calia:   I got the green and Baba got the yellow

Shea: That’s right. Baba was got the yellow and you’ve got the green. And I think mommy touched the microphone with her lips to it a little bit wet, but Hey, that’s okay. You know, it’s it’s it’s we share around here, you know, we’re one y’all one. Hey, so I got a question: what’d y’all do today? Where’d you go?

Calia: Um… eat popcorn

Shea: I know, but where’d you go this morning with mommy?

Calia: To the Cheeto place.

Shea: In the microphone, let me here

Calia: We went to the Cheeto place!

Shea:   Wow. Was it good? Did you go to another place and see a bunch of other cool stuff where you went to?

Calia: Yeah. Hobby Lobby!

Shea: Hobby Lobby? Did you know that’s a Christian store? Ooh. So what did you look at?

Calia: So many things!

Shea: Like what’d you end up looking at.

Calia: Maybe toys?

Shea: What’d you end up buying?

Calia: We see if we buy a dinosaur.

Shea:  Well you bought a dinosaur. This is interrogation, by the way. I’m finding out what my wife bought today.

Calia: We didn’t buy a dinosaur

Shea: So you didn’t buy a dinosaur. Did you buy a puzzle For me? Oh, okay. Okay. Well, I never knew that a puzzle, knowing that I was getting a puzzle would spoil my Christmas. Cause not a puzzle dude, but uh, yeah. That’s cool. That’s cool. Hey, so did you get the nativity set today?

Calia: Yeah. Let’s go down and see it.

Shea: Which one did you get? We’re going to go on the road with the show. All right. Let’s take off our headphones and go on the road. Okay.

Shea: So that’s two days away, but it’s going to be fun, but tomorrow you can help me cook for the party. You gonna show me. Okay. Whoa. That’s your nativity? So who’s who,

Calia: This is baby Jesus and Mary.. and Joseph

Shea: Okay. Who else is there?

Calia: The shepherds, the three wisemen, and the little lambs

Shea: You know that there was probably more than three wisemen. I think that they had like a big entourage, but we don’t know all that for some reason. Yeah, but who’s this dude. Is that a, the shepherd?

Calia: Yeah

Shea: I think he’s going to start going out and looking for a baby Jesus soon. Huh? Right. Which means I got to hide him for you. You got to hide him from you. Okay. I’m going to leave the room. And you tell me when you’re ready.

Calia: I’m ready

Shea: Okay. Baba is going to come find it or, I mean, find a ship, find a second. Oh, I found it under the table.

Michelle:  And so we try again. Okay, come over here, come over here. And don’t say nothing.

Shea:  We don’t tell me where it’s at because I’m going to try to find, oh wow. Look at that.

Oh my goodness. Oh my goodness. Come on. Y’all y’all. Best guest ever.

Michelle: If you are going to be on this season, I’m sorry. You’re automatically not number one, but you know, I mean, how can you be bad? But anyway, I’m sure that one day she’ll just, it’ll be like, I’ll just get kicked out and she’ll be here and that’s going to be fun.

Shea: The only number one that could show up and enforce themselves on our show would be cheesy.

Michelle: Yeah, but anyway, so everybody asks questions. There was one set of questions. People ask right after season four’s episode aired. And the links to that episode will be in the show notes because she was, she was impressively talking, but you know, her vocab has exploded since then. And we, we held off on getting her answers until, you know, it was time for the next time. And then we also asked again last week and people submitted more questions. I did not coach these answers at all. I so if they don’t make sense, well, that’s what you get. If they’re so deeply profound, you have to pause and ponder by all means.

Shea: Well, you just got smacked by the holy spirit through the two year old. Although I, you know, however that works

Shea:  So anyway, there’s probably some theological conundrum that I just said right there, but it’s fine,

Michelle:  You know, but we’re not perfect. And that’s the whole point, right? So here’s the Q & A, and we’ll be back after that to close this out with just an encouragement and a prayer. So here’s her Q&A

Michelle: All right. This is your ask me anything. So someone asks you, who is your favorite Tita, your favorite Tia?

Calia: Lily.

Michelle: And then why are you so adorable and cute?

Calia: Because I love her.

Michelle: And then do you want to have a podcast episode with Gloria about Noah’s Ark?

Calia: Uh-huh

Michelle: Who was Jesus’s mommy?

Calia:  Mary.

Michelle:  And then do you know who Lazarus was?

Calia: Um, a man.

Michelle:  A man. And what happened to him? How long was he dead for.

Calia: He told the lady to get water from the well.

Michelle: Oh, okay. We’ll work on Lazarus. Okay. Yeah. How do you describe our God?

Calia: Hmmm… God.

Michelle: That’s deep. How do you keep from getting mad? When someone says something you don’t like.

Calia: Hmmm… I… Happy!

Michelle:  All right. What is your favorite toy?

Calia: Giraffes!

Michelle: Oh, your toy? Giraffes. Okay. What do you love most about Jesus?

Calia: That I love Him and I make something besides him.

Michelle: You make something beside him? Like what?

Calia: Pancakes.

Michelle: Oh, what is your favorite part of the Bible?

Calia:  Matthew 8:6

Michelle: Oh, wow. What does your mom and Baba do to make you laugh?

Calia: Make something funny!

Michelle:  And can you show a funny face that me or Baba makes? What is your favorite food

Calia: picnics

Michelle: When are you going to go to Colorado?

Calia: Someday

Michelle: Oh, wow. What is your favorite animal?

Calia: Giraffes.

Michelle: And you know that Jesus loves you?

Calia: Yeah

Michelle: What is your favorite game?

Calia: Memory games, memory games or pizza games.

Michelle: What’s your favorite memory?

Calia: Game. Pizza games. Pizza games. Pizza, pizza memory game.

Michelle: That sounds cool.

Calia: Thank you for listening to the Pantry Podcast

Shea: Oh my gosh. Okay. I know I’m the parent, but I must say this. If the rest of it didn’t warm your heart, that goodbye should have. But anyways, Hey, we love you. God bless you. And may he keep you, may he give you the peace that passes understanding in this season and just remember that Jesus is the reason for the season. Amen.
