113: Escaping Sexual Shame with Carl Thomas, Pastor and CEO of XXXChurch

Finding Christ’s Plan // E05S09

We do not have to be trapped. Our sexual shame so often becomes the tallest wall preventing us from deliverance from the very sin that leads to that shame! We think we are the only ones who struggle and are afraid to be honest about our struggles. Yet, we are not, there a many brothers and sisters who will walk alongside us if we will only ask. And Christ will do a mighty work in our lives, though usually not immediate, He is faithful to make us new, removing our evil desires and filling their void with Himself.

Quotes from this episode:

“Hey it’s not about the momentary shame or guilt, it’s not any of that. It’s, do I feel good now and put off what I want for the rest of my life. The time perspective radically changes things.”

Carl Thomas, The Pantry Podcast, Escaping Sexual Shame

“Pornography, addictions, sexual immorality, usually end up in an identity somewhere, where we need or desire something more… And it is a struggle… that doesn’t go away overnight!”

Shea Watson, The Pantry Podcast, Escaping Sexual Shame

“Instead of just saying ‘it’s sin,’ and then closing the book on it… you humble yourself and tell your kids how it’s affected you… and if you do that you are arming your kinds with real truth”

Michelle Watson, The Pantry Podcast, Escaping Sexual Shame
