123: Having a Defense for Your Faith with Holly Varnum of Reasons for Hope

Biblical Truth // S10E02

A recent study reported that only 17% of professing Christians have a Biblical worldview. In the battle for souls, we are called to rightly handle the truth—which means there is a wrong way. How do we share the Word and have a defense for the hope we have without a Biblical worldview? This week we welcome Holly Varnum onto the show to discuss the most impactful factors that keep young adults in the faith and how we can overcome fear and take hold of truth to take part in the Great Commission.

Guest Info:

Holy Varnum is the director of curriculum development at Reasons for Hope, an apologetics ministry striving to equip believers to fulfill the command in 1 Peter 3:15. She comes to us as a wife, mom, curriculum writer and speaker. She got her start with Abeka publications and has written for organizations such as Focus on the Family and Answers in Genesis. Her passion for God’s word has opened doors for her to connect with Christian women and teenagers about issues that are close to their hearts and motivates her to research, respond to, and understand their needs from a Biblical perspective.

“To many Christians aren’t in the word, therefore they don’t know the truth and so their decisions, their thought processes, their everything is going to be tainted by the worlds philosophy. That Biblical worldview is the crux of any thinking in the right direction.”

Shea Watson, The Pantry Podcast, Having a Defense for Your Faith

“When you say: ‘Awesome, I’m a Christian now’ and you throw that plant on in there without every coming back to check on it or pull up the weeds, there are going to be consequences in your reality and in your perceptions.”
