Discipleship // S12E01
Is Jesus enough for us? This one seems obvious: Yes absolutely. But this idea is to often warped in ways that keep us from really growing through discipleship. Of course Jesus is enough for our salvation and what we truly need in life. However, one of the best ways to become more like Christ is through learning about Him through someone discipling you. As you will here in this episode, we are not disciples of a human person, but of Christ, yet receiving the blessing of learning about Him through someone who knows Him more intimately. Just as Paul says in 1 Corinthians, “Imitate me as I imitate Christ”
Verses from I Don’t Need Nobody But Jesus:
John 8:31, Matthew 10:24, Luke 14:26-27, Luke 14:33, John 6:69, Matthew 28:18-20
Quotes from today’s episode:
“The world is changing, let’s just be honest, and we’re going to need people around us that are grounded in the word of God that can also correct us, change us, teach us, and we can teach change and correct as well.”
Shea Watson, The Pantry Podcast, I Don’t Need Nobody But Jesus
“So why do we need discipleship? Well first thing, when your born again, your now a babe, Now your reborn and your starting over in a way, learning for the first time the way to walk that aligns with the word.”
Michelle Watson, The Pantry Podcast, I Don’t Need Nobody But Jesus
