What We Need // S11E13
There are two sides to this, both seem a bit extreme. One says: “Jesus is enough so stop complaining about whatever you dealing with and just live your life,” the other says that “yea Jesus is good in all, but we need other things out side of Christ and scripture for our lives”. Neither one gets it right. But how do we find that balance… One rightly acknowledges that Jesus is enough for us, only through Him do we have eternal and abundant life, but doesn’t neglect to give help to those struggling.
Verses from When Jesus Isn’t Enough:
Acts 4:12, Matthew 6:35-41, Ephesians 1:3, 2 Peter 1:3, 2 Corinthians 12:9, 2 Corinthians 1:3-4, James 1:22, Romans 12:2, Matthew 6:24-25, Colossians 2:8-9,
John 14:7-14, 2 Kings 18
Quotes from today’s episode:
“If you put Jesus into it then you would have to put a Biblical worldview into what you were doing, you’d have to verify what you are doing, which makes it a lot harder to do ones life, but that’s what you have to do…”
Shea Watson, The Pantry Podcast, When Jesus Isn’t Enough
I think it’s important to enjoy the things He gives us to enjoy, but you can also do that while acknowledging: Christ is all you need, and if He is all you need, then He is therefore enough.
