137: Meeting the Needs of the Saints with Matt & Lia McCabe

Within the Church // S11E03

How well are we, and our churches as a whole prepared to provide for the needs of those inside the church? Whether, it’s kids (or adults!) with special needs, or any other need one could think of! First, we must have the motivations to want to help others: love, compassion, etc. And then let us be willing to go out of our comfort zone and willing to give up our easy lives to show the grace of God to those within His family!

Guest Info:

Matt & Lia McCabe are the hosts of the Embracing Autism Podcast. They have two amazing daughters and currently live in Georgia, though we met them back when they lived in Maryland.

Verses from Meeting the Needs of the Saints:

Philippians 2:1-4, Philippians 4:19, James 1:27

Quotes from todays episode:

“When it comes to accommodating these needs, the most important things are free, and those are compassion, patience, and understanding. Just having those three things, and you are already well on your way.”

Lia McCabe, The Pantry Podcast, Meeting the Needs of the Saints

“Look, maybe we are ill-equipped, maybe we feel like: ‘I don’t know how to handle or where to even start with this,’ But we gotta remember one thing, we have God!”

Shea Watson, The Pantry Podcast, Meeting the Needs of the Saints

“And the churches are like, ‘what’s the return investment on this,’ and that’s not necessarily bad, if they are incorporating spiritual return!”

Michelle Watson, The Pantry Podcast, Meeting the Needs of the Saints
